Site Navigation

[HOME] [NEXT]
While it's true that Contiki users are a hardy breed, you have to bear in mind that by the time they've found your site they've probably put in a good deal more work than folks who use those "other" browsers... putting in a little extra affort to make your site more easily navigable can make all the difference in the world to these hardy web pioneers.

... Menus
It's a good idea to incorporate a menu at the top of each page, or at least ensure that an "index" page is never more than a click or two away. Sites which present information in a linear or circular manner (such as this one) can get away with a minimal "home" & "next" menu at the end of each page, whereas sites that employ a more hierarchical structure might be better served by a top-level menu placed fore and aft.

... Widgets & Buttons
Just because you can't use graphics doesn't mean you can't tart-up your web pages with a few choice UI elements. The Contiki OS uses square brackets to denote "buttons", which is what I've done here, but there's more than one way to skin a cat. Try different combinations of ASCII characters to create your own user interface... just remeber that consistency is the key to a successful UI!
